If you’ve put off working out all winter, join the club! Still, it’s not too late to start working out to get your body bikini ready for the summer. Check out this list of easy to do bikini body exercises (no equipment necessary!) that will help you get a bikini body quicker.
Squats. While this is the exercise that so many love to hate, it’s one to keep in your workout repertoire because it works more than just your thighs. This exercise helps strengthen your back and abs, too. As an added bonus, you can do it anywhere, even while watching TV! It’s important to do them correctly, and the best way to do that is to imagine you are sitting in a chair. Gently lower yourself down to the invisible seat, then stand back up slowly. Start with 3 sets of ten, then gradually increase the number of squats. For a detailed how-to guide, check out this post from POPSUGAR.
High Knee Exercises. This exercise will get your heart pumping as you tone your legs. Add music to make it more fun! Simply jump from one foot to the other while lifting your knee as high as possible. Check out this video to see exactly how it’s done.
Donkey kicks. This exercise is an awesome way to start toning your backside. Start out on your hands and knees with a straight back. Lift one leg up with the bottom of your foot facing the ceiling, and raise the sole of your foot straight toward the ceiling. Do 15 lifts with one leg, then 15 with the other. Repeat this exercise 3 times on each leg. To see a picture of this move, check out this Fitness Magazine article.
Squat Punch. Tone your abs, arms, back, and legs in one move. Stand with your legs shoulder width apart and toes facing out, and relax into a squat position. Start with your right arm and turn to punch toward the left side of your body. Return your arms to the center, then take your left arm and punch toward the right side of your body. Repeat this exercise. Start with 3 sets of 30 punches, then increase the intensity as you’re ready.
Plank. Planks are an awesome way to sculpt your abs without straining your back or neck. The basic plank position is similar to a push up position, but with your elbows on the ground instead of your hands. Hold this pose for 30-60 seconds. For variations on the basic plank, see this pictorial post at Shape Magazine.
